Learn to use woodworking hand tools safely. This course is suited for complete beginners. It will give you the confidence to use tools the correct way and to produce hand made items. Once you have learned to use the hand tools, you will learn to make a number of basic wood joints to produce a beautiful picture frame by hand. You will have the opportunity to use a hand router to produce small rebates and add a backing for the pictures.

The perfect course for the self-builder, the DIYer or just to develop your skills to renovate your home by yourself. This course has been extremely popular and really good fun.
Over 8 days, you will use the following: Measuring, cutting and shaping hand tools, woodworking power tools, woodworking machines (bandsaw & chop saw).
You will measure, cut and fit the following: Floor joists and floor coverings (flooring) / Studwork partitions including openings for a door or window, and including a corner and a tee junction / Service encasements and boxing in pipes / Internal cladding / Internal door lining or hatch lining / Hanging an internal door and its ironmongery / Skirting boards and architraves.

This one day course is open to complete beginners. It will give you the confidence to safely use power tools and changing blades by yourselves. You will learn to use the chop saw, the jigsaw, the power driver, the electric plane, the skill saw, the plunge saw, the hand router, the router table and the different types of sanders.
